You’re Under Arrest Manga Gets First New Chapter in 30 Years

It’s about time—now stick ‘em up!

In an exciting post shared to Twitter by Monthly Afternoon magazine, the team announced a new episode will officially be released for the classic 80s manga You’re Under Arrest. This is the first update fans have received since the series ended back in 1992—30 years ago.

You’re Under Arrest, known in Japan as Taiho Shichauzo (逮捕しちゃうぞ), was created by Kōsuke Fujishima (藤島 康介). The manga made its debut in 1986 and ran for a total of 7 volumes until 1992. An accompanying anime series was created in 1996 which lasted until 1997.

Monthly Afternoon (月刊アフタヌーン) will share the new episode in their monthly anthology of manga. This publication is owned by Kodansha Ltd, a privately owned Japanese publishing company. The Monthly Afternoon team is excited for the return of Natsumi and Miyuki, boasting enthusiasm for the legendary duo in their latest tweet.

This new episode is part of a year-end special and will be titled You’re Under Arrest GP (逮捕しちゃうぞGP). The publication is scheduled to release Friday, December 23rd and will be a part of the February 2023 edition.
