Yoshihiro Togashi’s (冨樫 義博) Hunter x Hunter manga is returning to hiatus. This manga first appeared in Shonen Jump back in 1998 and in recent years has had an on and off again release schedule. This has been due to health concerns on Togashi’s part which, as of late, have caused more problems leading to the new hiatus.
The editors at Shonen Jump confirmed that the Hunter x Hunter manga will no longer be serialized weekly due to health concerns. This was after consulting with Togashi directly who requested time away from publishing the story while he recovers.
The previous Hunter x Hunter hiatus lasted almost four years between 2018 and 2022. Since October, the story had returned to its weekly serialization much to the delight of fans. However, the story will pause again after just two months of new updates.
It’s worth noting that Hunter x Hunter is not over and there are plans to return in the future. However, the terms of its return have yet to be confirmed and will be announced once the editing team at Shonen Jump knows more. In the meantime, we wish Yoshihiro Togashi all the best and hope he has a speedy recovery.
