Anime Announced for Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M: Kyūkoku no Orange

Masahito Soda’s (曽田 正人) classic firefighting manga sequel is getting an anime release.

The Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M: Kyūkoku no Orange (2020) manga, sequel to the 1995 classic Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M (め組の大吾), will be getting a new anime to accompany the manga starting in 2023.

The original manga, Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M, was created by Masahito Soda 曽田 正人 and originally published by Shogakukan. It follows the story of Daigo Asahina who willingly endures the dangerous and exciting life of a fireman after having been saved by one as a child. It originally debuted in 1995 and lasted until 1999 with a total of 20 volumes.

In 2020, Masahito Soda unveiled a sequel manga titled Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M: Kyūkoku no Orange. This series is published by Kodansha which serializes its release in their Monthly Shounen Magazine. So far, there have been 6 volumes released to date.

This week, news broke declaring the release of a new anime series that will adapt the sequel manga Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M: Kyūkoku no Orange. This new anime is scheduled to debut in 2023 and will be produced by Brain’s Base.
